Information theft, malicious software, and denial-of-service attacks were the most common causes of data breaches in 2021.
CISCO's 2021 Cybersecurity Threat Trends report indicates that phishing accounts for about 90% of data breaches, and at least one person clicked on a phishing link in approximately 86% of the organizations surveyed.
Internet safety rules:
Do not open messages and attachments received via email from unknown senders.
Do not open any links attached to messages from unknown sources.
Never send sensitive data, such as passwords and logins, in text messages or emails.
